SELF-PERFORMED
WORK
versus

SUPERVISED
SUBCONTRACTED WORK

Our self-performing traveling operations crews have all the necessary expertise and equipment to complete jobs in multiple locations. These operations units are our company employees who are cross-trained in all aspects of parking lot maintenance.

Our supervised subcontracted work is done through a network of preferred subcontractors who complete work for our customers in various regional locations. Emerald oversees these subs by sending traveling “Project Managers” to maintain control over the quality of work. Our subcontractors are chosen only after rigorous background checks and they must meet all of Emerald’s operating and administrative protocols as well as safety and insurance requirements.

OUR PROCESS

Emerald Paving has created two distinct operational groups within the company to handle different types of lot maintenance. We also have specific subcontractors that handle the two individual types of repairs identified below.

REACTIVE MAINTENANCE

Our Reactive Maintenance Division has various 2 to 3 man traveling crews who are capable of completing multiple types of smaller repairs that are identified by our customers in their regular course of business. These are mostly hazardous condition remediation repairs that require a specific time frame for completion. Our crews are constantly traveling because we service approximately 800 individual locations in 7 States and they can be dispatched quickly depending on the urgency of the repair. Examples of these types of repairs include potholes, small areas of deteriorated asphalt, crack fill, small areas of broken or cracked concrete flatwork or curbing, knocked over bollards and signs, cracked or lifted dome warning panels, and missing utility covers and grates.

vs

PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE

Our Proactive Maintenance Division is made up of larger and more specialized 6-12 man crews with specific vehicles and equipment capable of completing capital projects that are considered to be regular scheduled maintenance. These jobs have a more open time frame for completion which allows for longer lead times for crew scheduling and mobilization. Emerald has specialized crews dedicated to crack fill, sealing and striping as well as large scale asphalt and concrete capital projects including removal and replacement as well as complete parking lot overlays.

EMERALD

History, mission & Focus

Emerald Paving has been providing a complete array of pavement maintenance products and services to our customers throughout the Western United States for more than 30 years. In 2021, Emerald joined forces with Atlantic Southern Paving and Sealcoating in an effort to expand our geographic reach and service offerings. This merger has allowed Emerald to expand our service area to include the entire United States as well as Puerto Rico.

Our mission is to offer our customers a valuable and comprehensive “Pavement Maintenance Program” with the added convenience of dealing with a one-source national vendor. We have been able to do this through the creation of a unique technology-driven service that creates a permanent record of each job we perform and eliminates the need for our customers to personally be on-site to supervise the job.
